Orthopedics / Telemetry RN – Night Shift | Morgantown, WV
Contract: 13 weeks | Start Date: September 11, 2026
Shift: 12-hour nights, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM | 36 hours/week
Schedule: Rotating weekends (every other weekend or 2 weekend shifts per schedule period); holiday rotation required
Unit Overview
This Orthopedic/Telemetry unit focuses on joint replacement, fracture management, and post-surgical ortho patients. The unit has telemetry capability; RNs are not required to read strips. A Charge Nurse is present 24/7, and CNAs support each shift.
Patient Population & Acuity
- Orthopedic surgical patients: total joint replacements, fractures, post-op recovery
- RNs do not titrate drips on this unit
- Respiratory therapy equipment (CPAP, BiPAP, high-flow) available as needed
Schedule & Logistics
- Float potential to sister units on the same campus
- Orientation: 1–2 shifts on the unit
- Cancellation policy: up to 2 shifts per 13-week contract
- Guaranteed hours: 36/week
Requirements
- Active RN license (willing to wait for licensure)
- BLS certification required
- Strong total joint replacement experience required — fracture-only experience does not meet the minimum
- COVID-19 vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
- Home address must be 50+ miles from the facility
- BSN not required
