Medical-Surgical Nurse — Night Shift | Wichita, KS
This 13-week travel contract places you in a Medical-Surgical unit in Wichita, KS, caring for a general acute care patient population. The role involves managing a diverse census with varying acuity levels typical of a busy med-surg environment, including post-procedure patients, medical admissions, and patients requiring EKG monitoring and point-of-care testing.
Schedule & Hours
- Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (12-hour nights)
- Every other weekend required; no on-call obligations
- Guaranteed 36 hours per week
Float Requirements
Candidates must be comfortable floating to like units on the same campus or to another campus within the Wichita area.

Required Credentials for Submission
- Active RN license (Nursys verified)
- Driver's License or State ID
- Two professional references
Onboarding Requirements
- Core competency assessment and EKG exam
- Skills checklist and charting system test-out
- Immunization documentation: MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Tdap, Influenza
- TB screening: 2-step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon/T-spot)
- Fit test, health statement, and color vision screening
- Criminal background check and drug screen (12-panel)
This is a strong long-term placement for an experienced med-surg nurse comfortable with night shifts and multi-campus flexibility.
