Medical-Surgical Telemetry RN – Night Shift Float Pool
Position Overview
The facility is seeking a registered nurse for a 13-week contract in the medical-surgical telemetry unit. This is a float pool position, so you'll provide coverage across multiple telemetry floors based on census and acuity needs.
Shift Details
- Schedule: 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
- Hours: 72 hours guaranteed biweekly
- Days: Weekends and holidays expected
- Float requirement: Yes—you will float to all medical-surgical telemetry floors and overflow areas as needed
Required Qualifications
- Current RN license
- Minimum 2 years of medical-surgical telemetry experience
- Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications
- Ability to pass telemetry competency exam
- Documented professional development activities
Pre-Assignment Testing
You must pass two competency exams during onboarding:
- ECG/Telemetry exam
- Medications exam
Tests are administered via video conference within 48 hours of offer. Passing score is 85%; there is one attempt only, with no opportunity for remediation. A study guide will be provided; we strongly recommend preparation before testing.

- Charge nurse experience
Orientation
Biweekly orientation schedule; nurse manager will conduct interviews and extend offers.
Important Notes
Submit your interview availability and any RTO (return-to-office) requests at time of application. If you have worked at this facility within the past six months, you must have a six-month separation before applying.
