Medical-Surgical Float Pool RN | Boston, MA | 13-Week Contract

This float pool position supports a network of medical-surgical units spanning specialties including neurology, cardiac, bariatric, general medicine, general surgery, gynecology, genitourinary, orthopedics (hips and joints), oncology, transplant (liver and kidney), and vascular.

Schedule

• 12-hour rotating days and nights
• Every 4-week period includes a mix of 12-hour and 8-hour shifts
• Every other weekend required; major winter holidays required
• No on-call required
• Guaranteed 72 hours biweekly
• Unit assignments may be given up to 2 hours before shift start; set schedules are not available, though RTO requests are honored when submitted at time of application

Clinical Scope

• Telemetry monitoring, 12-lead EKGs, blood transfusions, Lasix drips
• Patient acuity ranges from moderate to higher-acuity medical-surgical presentations
• Respiratory therapy manages ventilators; RN is responsible for nebulizer administration

Requirements

• Active Massachusetts RN license required at time of submission
• Minimum 3 years of RN experience
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Teaching hospital and specialty area experience preferred
• BLS and ACLS (both AHA) required
• Electronic health record experience required
