Registered Nurse
IMCU / PCU Registered Nurse — Night Shift | Utica, NY
This intermediate care unit manages a high-acuity adult population (18+) with a strong mix of neurological, cardiac, trauma, and respiratory cases. Common diagnoses include COPD, DKA, sepsis, MI, cardiovascular stepdown, and post-operative patients.
Unit & Schedule Details
- Shift: 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM (12-hour nights)
- Contract: 13 weeks | Start: October 12, 2026
- Guaranteed hours: 48 per week
- Block scheduling is not promised or guaranteed
- Floating required
- Scrub color: Navy blue
Clinical Scope
Nurses in this role will work with specialty equipment including temporary pacers, chest tubes, arterial lines, and BiPAP. The unit also manages patients on chronic ventilators who are unable to wean; respiratory therapy is available to assist. A dedicated subset of beds serves neurological patients.
Required Certifications & Licensure
- Active NY RN license (all RN licenses must be verifiable)
- Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
