Emergency Department RN — Travel Contract

Utica, NY | Evening Shift | 16-Week Contract

This full-acuity Emergency Department sees patients across the entire age spectrum — newborns, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics. The unit manages high-complexity presentations including stroke, sepsis, MI, cardiac arrest, respiratory failure, and trauma. Floating is required.

Shift & Schedule

  • Hours: 14:30–03:00 (12-hour evenings, 3 shifts/week)
  • Guaranteed: 36 hours/week
  • Block scheduling is not guaranteed
  • Start date: October 5, 2026

Clinical Scope

Nurses in this department manage a broad medication profile including vasopressors (Levophed, Neo, Epi, Vasopressin, Dobutamine, Dopamine), vasodilators (Cleviprex, Cardene, NTG), anti-arrhythmics (Cardizem, Amiodarone, Lidocaine), sedation agents (Precedex, Propofol, Fentanyl), TNK, Heparin, and Insulin. Familiarity with rapid infusor and targeted temperature management equipment is expected.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of ED experience with some pediatric exposure
  • Prior travel nursing experience required
  • Charge nurse capability highly preferred
  • Active, unencumbered New York RN license
  • Current AHA ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC required
  • Electronic health record proficiency required
  • Scrub color: Navy Blue
