Emergency Room RN — Freestanding Emergency Department | Corpus Christi, TX

This 13-week contract places you in a 24/7 freestanding emergency department in Corpus Christi, TX, providing fast-paced, high-acuity emergency care to adult and pediatric patients. The unit operates with a strong team-based model and maintains consistent core staffing, so floating to other departments is rarely required.

Shift & Schedule

• 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM (Day shift)
• Every other weekend required; no on-call
• 36 guaranteed hours per week
• Must clock out for lunch and any time leaving the building

Clinical Scope

The department manages a broad emergency patient population, with an emphasis on rapid identification and intervention for sepsis, STEMI, stroke, and trauma. RNs provide direct oversight of EMT-Ps and perform a full range of emergency procedures including:

• IV starts and medication administration
• Wound care and splinting
• Airway management and ventilator support
• Ongoing patient assessment and reassessment
• Thorough documentation throughout the visit

Ideal Candidate

• Strong sense of urgency with a compassionate, team-oriented approach
• Skilled in recognizing and initiating care for time-sensitive emergencies
• Experience with airway management and ventilators preferred
• Non-abrasive communicator comfortable working alongside ancillary staff

Required Certifications

• BLS, ACLS, TNCC, PALS or ENPC, CPI or equivalent

Dress Code

Royal blue scrubs; no hoodies
