Emergency Room RN — Freestanding Emergency Department
Corpus Christi, TX | 13-Week Contract | Days
This travel RN role is based in a 24/7 freestanding emergency department providing full emergency care services. The unit operates at a fast pace, managing a broad range of acute presentations including sepsis, STEMI, stroke, and trauma.
Shift & Schedule
- 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- Every other weekend required; no on-call
Clinical Scope
Nurses in this department perform and oversee a variety of procedures including IV placement, medication administration, wound care, splinting, patient assessments and reassessments, and documentation. RNs also provide clinical oversight of EMT-Ps on shift. The ability to rapidly identify and initiate protocols for sepsis, STEMI, stroke, and trauma is essential.
Required Skills & Certifications
- Strong sense of urgency, compassion, and ability to function as a team player
- Rapid recognition of time-sensitive emergencies
- Airway management and ventilator experience preferred
- Required: BLS, ACLS, TNCC, PALS or ENPC, CPI or equivalent

- Scrubs: Royal Blue (no hoodies)
- Float: Minimal — unit is typically staffed to core
- Nurses must clock out for lunch and any time leaving the building, and communicate departures to charge nursing staff
