NICU Registered Nurse (RN)
Location: Nashville, TN
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Contract Duration: 13 weeks
Guaranteed Hours: 36/week
About the Role
The facility's Level III NICU is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to provide direct care to critically ill and medically complex neonates. You'll manage high-acuity patients independently, including infants requiring advanced respiratory support and therapeutic cooling.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver direct nursing care to premature and critically ill neonates
- Manage infants requiring therapeutic hypothermia/cooling
- Care for patients needing advanced respiratory and hemodynamic support, including ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP/NIPPV, and high-flow oxygen
- Monitor and manage central lines, PICC lines, umbilical lines (UAC/UVC), and other invasive devices
- Administer and titrate IV medications, continuous infusions, TPN, and blood products
- Recognize and respond quickly to neonatal deterioration and emergency situations
- Participate in neonatal resuscitation and stabilization
- Perform comprehensive assessments and monitor patient condition changes
- Collaborate with neonatologists, respiratory therapists, and the multidisciplinary NICU team
- Provide education and emotional support to families
- Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license
- BLS and NRP certifications
- 3–4+ years of strong Level III NICU experience
- Hands-on therapeutic cooling experience required
- Ability to function independently in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
- Previous travel nursing experience preferred
