This opportunity is for an experienced Registered Nurse to join a busy Medical Step Down Unit in Atlanta, GA. The unit manages a diverse, complex patient population requiring close monitoring and skilled intervention.
Unit Overview
The step-down unit provides intermediate care for patients presenting with a wide range of acute and chronic conditions, including:
- Sepsis
- Heart failure
- Hypertensive emergency
- Respiratory failure and COPD
- Chronic kidney disease
- Type 2 diabetes mellitus
- Substance abuse
- Status epilepticus
- Encephalopathy
Assignment Details
- Shift: 4 x 12-hour nights
- Contract Duration: 16 weeks
- Start Date: September 21, 2026
- Guaranteed Hours: 48 per week
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience in a step-down, PCU, or similar intermediate care setting
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
- Georgia RN license (or compact eligibility)
