Oncology Nurse
Position Overview
Join the hematology/oncology infusion clinic as a Nurse. You'll work 4 days per week on 10-hour shifts (7:00 AM–5:30 PM), Monday through Friday with no weekends or major holidays. This is a 14-week contract.
The Role
In this busy clinic setting, you'll manage 35 bays and beds with an average patient ratio of 1:6. Your responsibilities include:
- & Communication: Handle patient, family, and referral office calls; conduct follow-up calls as directed by providers.
- Clinical Care: Administer ordered injections, manage pump disconnects, and administer vaccines. Perform vitals, medication reconciliation, health histories, and EKGs/PFTs as ordered.
- Lab & Results Management: Review and lab/x-ray results; notify providers of critical values.
- Chart Preparation: Conduct pre-visit reviews to ensure all necessary information is available in the electronic health record for provider review.
- Independent Nursing Visits: Manage Nurse-Only visits (BP checks, immunizations, injections, patient education).
- Documentation & Coordination: Document all findings and communicate relevant notes to physicians for follow-up care.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2+ years' experience in hematology/oncology infusion and
- Demonstrated skills in phlebotomy, port access, IV starts, and lab draws
- Current BLS Certification
- Chemo Certification required
- Oncology Certification preferred
