Stepdown RN – IMCU / MedSurg
Shift & Schedule
- 12-hour PM/nights
- Every other weekend, every other holiday
- 14-week contract
- 36 guaranteed hours per week
Required Experience
- Minimum 1 year IMCU experience
- 2+ years recent MedSurg and telemetry experience
- Proficiency in neuro care, MI management, and tracheostomy care
- Ability to independently read and interpret telemetry rhythm strips
- Telemetry competency assessment on Day 1
- Current BLS certification
Preferred Experience
- Critical care background
About the Unit
You'll care for a diverse patient population across IMCU, neurology, and MedSurg. The unit sees high volumes of neuro, medicine, and cardiology patients, including those on chronic ventilators, with tracheostomies, and complex heart failure cases. Patient ratios typically run 1:3 for IMCU patients and 1:4 to 1:5 for MedSurg patients.
What We're Looking For
A skilled, independent nurse comfortable managing high-acuity patients with complex medical needs. You'll use automated medication dispensing systems and demonstrate strong assessment and clinical judgment skills in a fast-paced stepdown environment.
