Registered Nurse – Intensive Care Unit
Position Overview
The facility is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for its multi-specialty Intensive Care Unit. You'll deliver high-quality, patient-centered care to critically ill patients while working collaboratively with a dedicated nursing team.
Shift & Schedule
- 12-hour shifts: 7:00 AM–7:30 PM and 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
- Flexible day/night rotation
- Every-other weekend and every-other holiday rotation
- May float to medical/surgical units as needed
- Contract duration: 13 weeks
- Guaranteed hours: 36 per week
Key Responsibilities
- Assess, diagnose, plan, intervene, and evaluate patient care
- Independently read and interpret telemetry rhythm strips (telemetry competency test required on Day 1)
- Educate patients and families on care processes
- Coordinate and delegate care activities to the interdisciplinary team
- Manage and update patient records accurately
- Enter and interpret computerized data
- Support quality improvement initiatives
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years RN experience in a multi-specialty ICU setting (CCU, SICU, MICU, Neuro, CT)
- Current Massachusetts RN License
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
- Telemetry experience with ability to independently interpret rhythm strips
- Nursing degree: Diploma, ASN, or BSN (BSN preferred)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Basic computer proficiency
- Physical ability to meet job demands
