Emergency Department Nurse – Travel Position

The Opportunity

The facility's Emergency Department seeks an experienced travel nurse to join a fast-paced, high-acuity unit serving diverse patient populations including trauma, stroke, and critical care cases.

Shift & Schedule

• Day shift: 12:00 p.m. – 12:00 a.m., 4 days per week (3–4 shifts available)
• Every other weekend (2 weekends per 4-week schedule)
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Start date: October 5, 2026

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of emergency nursing experience
• Current NY state nursing license
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC
• Patient ratio experience at 1:5
• Ability to float to other departments as needed
• Must relocate (candidates within 75 miles not considered)

Preferred Certifications

• CPI, TCAR

Clinical Scope

You'll manage adult and pediatric patients across all ages, including:

• Trauma and neuro-trauma cases
• Stroke patients and CVA management
• Dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Central line and arterial line care
• IV sedation and vasopressor management
• Ventilated patients
• Multisystem organ dysfunction

You'll work alongside respiratory services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, radiology, and interpretation services.

Orientation

• 24-hour modified orientation
