Cath Lab & Interventional Radiology RN — Rochester, NY

This combined Cath Lab/IR position is a day-shift travel contract ideal for experienced procedural nurses comfortable working across both cardiac and interventional radiology settings.

Shift & Schedule

• 4x10-hour days, 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM
• 8–10 call shifts per month, including 1–2 call weekends per month
• 40-hour orientation
• Float required

Contract Details

• Duration: 13 weeks
• Start: October 2026
• NY state license required and in hand at time of submission
• Candidates within 75 miles of the facility are not eligible
• RTO limited to approximately 1 week per contract

Clinical Scope

The unit supports adult and geriatric patients across two procedural suites — one dedicated to cardiac catheterization and one to interventional radiology. Clinical responsibilities include:

• Diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterizations, PCI, IABP placement/removal, Impella insertion, left and right heart catheterization, pacemaker/defibrillator lead extraction, Swan-Ganz monitoring
• IR procedures including embolization, nephrostomy, liver and lung biopsies, paracentesis, kyphoplasty, tube and drain placements, renal and pulmonary angiography, endovascular and stent graft interventions
• Procedural sedation administration and monitoring
• Mandatory phlebotomy and IV placement competency required

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years Cath Lab experience; IR-only backgrounds are not accepted
• Experience in both Cath Lab and IR Lab is required
• ACLS and BLS required
• Charting system experience required (electronic health record proficiency)
