Oncology Nurse – Day Shift
Position Overview
The facility is seeking an experienced Oncology Nurse to join a clinic-based team in Los Angeles, CA. This is a 13-week contract assignment offering day shifts, Monday through Friday.
Schedule & Flexibility
- Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM (5 × 8-hour days)
- Floating: Yes, flexible assignment to clinic areas as needed
- Weekends: No weekend requirements
- On-call: No
- Time off: Maximum 2 weeks total; none during first 2 weeks of assignment
Requirements
- License: Active California RN license (must be in hand at time of submission; no pending or temporary licenses)
- Experience: Minimum 3 years nursing; at least 1 year ONC preferred
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and ONS or ONC
- Flu vaccine: Required (no exemptions or declinations)
- References: 2 references from clinical supervisors within the past year required
Clinical Scope
You'll provide care to a diverse patient population (adults, pediatrics, adolescents, and infants) in an outpatient oncology setting with a daily census of approximately 40 patients across 5 rooms. Core responsibilities include vital signs, IV infusions, medication reconciliation, patient assessment and teaching, emergency procedures, and documentation in the electronic health record system.
Orientation
80 hours provided. Compliance modules (10–40 hours) completed before start or during orientation.
