Registered Nurse

Med/Surg Oncology Travel RN — Bristol, TN

Day Shift | 4x12 Hours (06:30–19:00) | 13-Week Contract

This Med/Surg Oncology unit cares for a mixed population of oncology and post-surgical patients across adolescent, adult, and geriatric age groups. Travelers will provide direct clinical care alongside active support of nursing student education as part of the unit's culture.

Shift & Schedule

• Days, 4x12 (06:30–19:00)
• Every other weekend required
• No call required
• Floating to other units when census or staffing needs arise
• 36/36, 36/48, or 48/48 schedule options available

Clinical Skills Required

• Port access and management
• Blood product administration
• Central line blood draws; PICC line management
• Peripheral IV insertion and maintenance
• Heparin and insulin administration
• PCA management
• Feeding tube care; colostomy/ileostomy management
• Wound care and wound VAC
• Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Isolation precautions/PPE

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg/Tele experience
• AHA BLS (AHA certification only accepted)
• Previous charge experience preferred
• First-time travelers welcome
• Must reside 100+ miles from the facility

Compliance Notes

• Relias basic EKG test must be completed within 72 hours of offer acceptance (two attempts allowed)
• Drug screening required 12–14 days prior to start
• Non-billable orientation modules (~4–5 hours) completed on Sundays
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• COVID-19 vaccine not required
• Facial hair must meet CDC fit-testing guidelines
