7:00 AM – 7:00 PM | 3 × 12-hour shifts per week (36 hours) | 13-week contract

About the Unit

This is a high-acuity, cardiac-focused progressive care unit managing complex cardiac patients across the spectrum of heart disease. You'll care for patients with heart failure, arrhythmias, post-procedural recovery, and advanced cardiac conditions. The unit handles significant procedural volume and frequent admissions/discharges.

What You'll Do

• Manage patients on cardiac drips (insulin, milrinone, dobutamine, amiodarone, heparin, lasix, nitroglycerin)
• Independently interpret cardiac rhythms and manage telemetry monitoring
• Support patients undergoing or recovering from catheterizations, stent placements, valve procedures, pacemaker/ICD implants, ablations, and cardioversions
• Manage chest tubes and groin sites post-procedure
• Care for heart transplant and LVAD patients
• Typical patient ratio: 1:4 to 1:5

Required Qualifications

• Current RN license
• Minimum 18 months recent cardiac unit experience
• Ability to independently interpret dysrhythmias and pass a proctored paper-based dysrhythmia exam (calipers required; must pass on first attempt)
• Demonstrated competency in all listed cardiac drips
• Chest tube management experience
• Heart transplant and LVAD experience preferred (training provided if needed)
• Cardiac skills rated "4" on competency checklist

Floating

You may float to similar cardiac/PCU units. You will not float to monitor tech roles.
