7:00 AM – 7:00 PM | 3 × 12-hour shifts per week (36 hours) | 13-week contract

About the Unit

You'll work in a high-acuity, cardiac-focused progressive care unit. This is a fast-paced environment with frequent admissions, discharges, and significant procedural volume. Patient populations include heart failure, atrial fibrillation, post-cardiac catheterization patients, heart transplant recipients, LVAD patients, and those recovering from valve replacements, stent placements, and ablations.

What You'll Do

• Manage complex cardiac patients including those on multiple drips (insulin, milrinone, dobutamine, amiodarone, heparin, nitroglycerin, Lasix)
• Interpret cardiac rhythms independently and manage telemetry monitoring
• Care for patients with chest tubes, central lines, and post-procedure groin sites
• Support patients undergoing or recovering from catheterizations, pacemaker placements, ICDs, and cardioversions
• Float to similar cardiac/PCU units as needed

Required Qualifications

• Current RN license
• Minimum 18 months of recent cardiac unit experience
• Ability to independently interpret cardiac rhythms and pass a proctored dysrhythmia exam on the first attempt (paper-based, requires calipers)
• Proficiency with cardiac drips and telemetry interpretation
• Chest tube experience
• Strong cardiac skills (rated "4" on skills checklist)
• Familiarity with the facility's electronic health record system

Preferred

• Heart transplant experience
• LVAD experience

Candidates should be comfortable with high-acuity cardiac nursing and the procedural scope of this role before applying.
