Physical Therapist – Acute Care

Position Details

• Specialty: Physical Therapy
• Setting: Acute care hospital
• Shift: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, Monday–Friday
• Weekend requirement: Minimum 2 days per month (additional shifts available)
• Contract duration: 90 weeks
• Guaranteed hours: 40 per week

Clinical Scope

You'll evaluate and treat patients across multiple service lines, including neurological, orthopedic, cardiovascular, and oncological conditions, as well as general medical cases. Responsibilities include:

• Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments
• Establish, revise, and evaluate individualized plans of care in collaboration with patients and families
• Deliver skilled physical therapy interventions using standard techniques
• Oversee physical therapy assistants, students, and support staff
• Participate actively in interdisciplinary team rounds and care planning
• Document in real time using the electronic medical record system

Work Environment

This is a fast-paced acute care setting where you'll work across multiple hospital units. You'll be part of a collaborative rehab team and expected to work independently with sound clinical judgment and critical thinking skills. Standard precautions and personal protective equipment are required.

Required Credentials

• Current state physical therapy license
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• Immunizations and health screening per facility requirements (details provided upon application)

The team will provide comprehensive orientation to ensure you're prepared for all clinical responsibilities.
