Cardiac Telemetry Nurse – Night Shift
Position Overview
Join the cardiac telemetry unit for a 13-week assignment. You'll provide direct nursing care to patients across the spectrum of cardiac needs, including post-operative cardiac cases, in a fast-paced, supportive environment.
Shift & Schedule
- 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- 36 guaranteed hours per week
- Expect up to 6 weekend shifts per 6-week period
- Holiday coverage as needed
Unit Details
The cardiac telemetry unit manages high-acuity cardiac patients with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4–6. You'll work alongside Patient Care Technicians, a unit coordinator, telemetry monitoring technicians, and virtual sitter support. The team-based culture emphasizes collaboration across all disciplines to coordinate seamless patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and monitor individualized patient care plans
- Assess patient conditions, communicate changes to the care team, and alert providers promptly
- Serve as primary coordinator across disciplines
- Execute physician and nursing orders accurately
- Collaborate on discharge planning with the healthcare team
- Work with minimal supervision while managing a stressful environment with critical thinking and sound judgment
Requirements
- Current RN license (verification required)
- Ability to float to cardiac telemetry and med-surg departments
- Willingness to work weekends and holidays as scheduled
