Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week

About the Role

You'll provide direct nursing care on a cardiac telemetry unit, managing patients across the full spectrum of cardiac needs. Your responsibilities include implementing and monitoring individualized care plans, assessing and documenting patient conditions, coordinating care across disciplines, and executing physician and nursing orders with precision. You'll serve as the primary care coordinator, ensuring seamless communication among all team members and managing discharge planning in collaboration with the healthcare team.

Unit Environment

The cardiac telemetry unit serves patients requiring continuous cardiac monitoring and telemetry surveillance. You'll work in a dynamic setting supported by nursing assistants, a healthcare unit coordinator, virtual sitter monitoring, and monitor technicians. The nurse-to-patient ratio typically ranges from 1:4 to 1:6, allowing you to deliver attentive, individualized care.

Schedule & Expectations

  • Night shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
  • Up to 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule period
  • Holiday requirements based on departmental needs

Requirements

  • Current RN license (verification required)
  • Ability to work independently with strong critical thinking and decision-making skills
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
  • Standard Precautions and appropriate use of personal protective equipment

You'll complete facility-specific onboarding, including pharmacology, specialty, EKG, and core competency exams, as well as required health screenings and vaccinations.
