Cardiac Telemetry Nurse – Night Shift
Position Overview
Provide direct nursing care in a cardiac telemetry unit, implementing and monitoring patient care plans, coordinating multidisciplinary team efforts, and ensuring accurate communication of patient conditions.
Unit Details
You'll work in a cardiac telemetry unit caring for all cardiac diagnoses, including post-operative patients. The unit provides support through Patient Care Technicians, a unit coordinator, virtual sitter monitoring, and dedicated telemetry monitoring staff. You'll collaborate with nursing teams to deliver coordinated, high-quality care.
Shift & Schedule
- Hours: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Contract: 13 weeks
- Start Date: October 4, 2026
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week
- Weekend Expectation: Up to 6 weekend shifts per 6-week period; holidays as needed
- Float Requirement: May float to cardiac telemetry and medical-surgical departments
Key Responsibilities
- Assess patients and implement individualized care plans
- Monitor, record, and communicate patient status to the healthcare team
- Coordinate physician and nursing orders
- Assess discharge planning needs and collaborate with team members
- Apply critical thinking and clinical judgment in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Follow Standard Precautions and use personal protective equipment appropriately
Required Qualifications
- Valid, unrestricted nursing license
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a high-stress setting
- Competency in EKG interpretation and cardiac monitoring
Onboarding Requirements
Completion of facility-specific assessments including pharmacology, specialty, core competencies, and EKG exams. Current immunizations and health screenings required per facility policy.
