This high-acuity Intermediate Care Unit in Baltimore City manages complex, critically ill patients requiring continuous monitoring and advanced interventional support. The unit operates within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment with strong team culture across departments.
Shift Details
- Days: 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM (12-hour shifts)
- Guaranteed hours per contract
- Contract duration: 13 weeks
- Start date: October 5, 2026
Clinical Responsibilities
- Continuously monitor and assess high-acuity patients, including those on ventilators and cardiac monitors
- Administer medications, fluids, and treatments per physician orders
- Recognize and respond rapidly to changes in patient condition and emergencies
- Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with physicians, respiratory therapists, and the broader care team
- Maintain thorough, accurate documentation of patient status and nursing interventions
- Provide patient and family education and emotional support
- Adhere to infection control protocols
- Willingness to precept is expected
Required Certifications & Licensure
- Active RN license (Compact accepted)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- CRRT (Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy) experience required
