Registered Nurse – Cardiac Intensive Care Unit
Position Overview
The facility is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for its Cardiac Intensive Care Unit. You'll deliver high-quality, evidence-based patient care in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment. This is a 13-week contract position.
Shift & Schedule
- 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- 36 guaranteed hours per week
- Float assignments as needed to MICU, SICU, Medical or Cardiac Stepdown Units
Clinical Scope
You'll care for a patient population that is 80% cardiac surgery and 20% advanced heart failure. Cases include:
- High-risk cardiac surgery and open heart recovery
- Heart transplants
- LVAD implants
- ECMO, Impella, and IABP support
- Swan-Ganz catheters and advanced hemodynamic monitoring
- Continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT)
Key Responsibilities
- Implement individualized patient care plans and monitor outcomes
- Administer physician and nursing orders in compliance with standards
- Lead discharge planning and care transitions with the interdisciplinary team
- Maintain safe, evidence-based interventions aligned with facility policies
Requirements
- Current, active RN license (Nursys verification required)
- Minimum experience managing advanced cardiac devices (IABP, Impella, Swan-Ganz)
- Willingness to complete facility-specific competency assessments and EKG exam upon onboarding
