Registered Nurse – Cardiac ICU
Position Overview
Join the Cardiac ICU as a Registered Nurse delivering high-quality, evidence-based patient care. You'll implement individualized care plans, monitor patient outcomes, administer orders in compliance with clinical standards, and lead discharge planning in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
Unit & Schedule
- Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
- Scrub Color: Navy
- Float Assignments: MICU, SICU, Medical or Cardiac Stepdown Units as needed
Clinical Scope
The unit manages high-acuity cardiac patients:
- 80% post-cardiac surgery (open heart recovery, heart transplants)
- 20% advanced heart failure
- Advanced cardiac device management: IABP, IMPELLA, Swan-Ganz catheters, CCO monitoring, CRRT, ECMO
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license (Texas)
- Preferred experience with cardiac advanced device therapy management (IABP, IMPELLA, Swan-Ganz)
- EKG competency
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
Onboarding Requirements
Standard facility credentialing, health screening, vaccinations (COVID-19, influenza, MMR, Tdap, Hepatitis B, Varicella), TB clearance, and background check will be completed during orientation.
