Registered Nurse – Cardiac Vascular Intensive Care Unit
Position Overview
Join the CVICU as a Registered Nurse delivering high-quality, evidence-based care to complex cardiac patients. You'll implement individualized care plans, monitor patient outcomes, administer physician and nursing orders, and lead discharge planning in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
Shift & Schedule
- 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM, 12-hour shifts
- 36 guaranteed hours per week
- 13-week contract
- Float as needed to MICU, SICU, Medical, or Cardiac Stepdown Units
Unit Details
The CVICU manages high-risk cardiac surgery patients and advanced heart failure cases, including:
- Open heart recovery
- Heart transplants
- LVAD implants
- ECMO, Impella, IABP support
- CRRT, Swan Ganz catheters, and CCO monitoring
Patient population: 80% cardiac surgery, 20% advanced heart failure.
Requirements
- Current RN license with Nursys verification
- Cardiac advanced device therapy management experience (IABP, Impella, and Swan-Ganz management preferred)
- Ability to manage high-acuity patients and complex hemodynamic monitoring
- Standard immunizations and health screening (completed during onboarding)
- EKG competency exam required
