Registered Nurse – Cardiac Intensive Care Unit
Position Overview
Join the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) as a Registered Nurse, delivering high-quality direct patient care in a fast-paced, specialized environment. You'll work with complex cardiac patients requiring advanced monitoring, device management, and critical interventions.
Clinical Scope
The unit manages a population that is 80% post-cardiac-surgery and 20% advanced heart failure patients. You'll provide care for patients recovering from open-heart surgery, heart transplants, LVAD implants, and those requiring advanced support therapies including ECMO, Impella, IABP, CRRT, Swan-Ganz catheter management, and continuous cardiac output monitoring.
Shift & Schedule
- Hours: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week
- Float Rotation: You may float to MICU, SICU, or cardiac stepdown units as needed
Requirements & Credentials
- Current RN license (verification via Nursys required)
- Demonstrated experience managing advanced cardiac devices: minimum IABP, Impella, and Swan-Ganz catheter management
- EKG competency and ability to interpret cardiac rhythms
- Required onboarding includes facility-specific specialty exam, core competencies, and electronic health record training
