NICU Registered Nurse (RN) – Level III
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Contract Duration: 13 weeks
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week
About the Role
The facility's Level III NICU is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to provide direct care to critically ill and medically complex neonates. You'll work independently managing high-acuity patients in a fast-paced environment, collaborating closely with neonatologists, respiratory therapists, and the multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver nursing care to premature, critically ill, and medically complex neonates
- Manage infants requiring therapeutic hypothermia/cooling
- Support patients on advanced respiratory devices: ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP/NIPPV, and high-flow oxygen
- Monitor and manage central lines, PICC lines, umbilical lines (UAC/UVC), and invasive devices
- Administer and titrate IV medications, continuous infusions, TPN, and blood products
- Recognize and respond rapidly to neonatal deterioration and emergency situations
- Participate in neonatal resuscitation and stabilization
- Perform comprehensive assessments and monitor patient condition changes
- Provide family education and emotional support throughout hospitalization
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license
- BLS and NRP certifications
- 3–4+ years of Level III NICU experience
- Hands-on therapeutic cooling experience
- Ability to function independently with minimal supervision in high-acuity settings
- Travel nursing experience preferred
