NICU Registered Nurse (RN) Level III
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Contract Duration: 13 weeks
Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week
About the Role
The facility's Level III NICU is seeking an experienced RN to provide direct care to premature, critically ill, and medically complex neonates. You'll manage high-acuity patients requiring advanced respiratory support, hemodynamic monitoring, and therapeutic cooling.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver direct nursing care to extremely high-acuity neonates, including those requiring therapeutic hypothermia
- Manage ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP/NIPPV, and high-flow oxygen delivery
- Monitor and maintain central lines, PICC lines, umbilical lines (UAC/UVC), and other invasive devices
- Administer and titrate IV medications, continuous infusions, TPN, and blood products
- Perform comprehensive neonatal assessments and respond quickly to patient deterioration
- Participate in neonatal resuscitation and stabilization
- Collaborate with neonatologists, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and interdisciplinary team members
- Provide family education and emotional support
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license
- Current BLS and NRP certifications
- 3–4+ years of strong Level III NICU experience
- Hands-on therapeutic cooling experience
- Ability to function independently and manage complex patients with minimal supervision
- Comfortable thriving in a fast-paced environment
This is a travel position; previous travel experience is preferred.
