NICU Registered Nurse (RN) – Level III
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Duration: 13 weeks
Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced NICU Registered Nurse to provide high-quality care to critically ill and medically complex neonates. You'll work in a fast-paced Level III NICU managing patients with advanced care needs, including those requiring therapeutic cooling and sophisticated respiratory support.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver direct nursing care to premature, critically ill, and medically complex neonates
- Manage infants requiring therapeutic hypothermia/cooling
- Care for high-acuity patients needing advanced respiratory and hemodynamic support
- Operate ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP/NIPPV, and high-flow oxygen systems
- Monitor and manage central lines, PICC lines, umbilical lines (UAC/UVC), and other invasive devices
- Administer and titrate IV medications, continuous infusions, TPN, and blood products
- Recognize and respond quickly to neonatal deterioration and emergency situations
- Perform neonatal resuscitation and stabilization
- Conduct comprehensive neonatal assessments and monitor patient condition changes
- Collaborate with neonatologists, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and the multidisciplinary care team
- Provide education and emotional support to families
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation
Ideal Candidate
- 3+ years of strong Level III NICU experience required
- Hands-on therapeutic cooling experience required
- Comfortable managing extremely high-acuity neonates independently
- Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
- Previous travel nursing experience preferred
Required Certifications & Licenses
- Active RN license
- BLS
- NRP
