Stepdown Nurse – Cardiovascular & Vascular Focus

Position Overview

The facility is seeking an experienced stepdown nurse to join its critical care service line. You'll care for post-operative and high-acuity patients recovering from major cardiovascular and vascular procedures, as well as patients with acute cardiac and respiratory conditions.

Shift & Duration

• 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• 13-week contract
• 36 guaranteed hours per week
• Float assignments across the critical care service line

Clinical Scope

You'll manage patients including:

• Post-operative cardiac surgery (CABG, AVR, MVR) – POD#1
• Vascular procedures (AAA repair, CEA, lobectomy)
• Acute coronary syndromes (NSTEMI, STEMI, ACS)
• Advanced respiratory support (HFNC, BIPAP)
• Cardiac devices and pacemakers
• Sepsis, respiratory failure, tracheostomies, gastrointestinal bleeding, and post-DKA

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
• Current RN license (verification required)
• Ability to float within critical care services
• Completion of facility-required assessments: EKG exam, specialty exam, core competencies, and unit-specific orientation
• Current vaccinations and health clearances per facility policy
