Labor & Delivery – Night Shift
Position Overview
The facility is seeking an experienced Perinatal RN for night shifts in a busy Labor & Delivery unit. This is a 16-week contract beginning in October, with an ASAP start option available.
Shift & Schedule
- Night shift: 3x12-hour (19:00–07:30)
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call; may float to postpartum as needed
- Guaranteed hours (facility may call off once per two-week pay period)
Clinical Scope
You'll manage a dynamic patient population across:
- Antepartum: High-risk pregnancy monitoring in dedicated rooms
- Labor/: Fetal heart monitoring, vaginal deliveries, labor support
- Operating Room: Circulate and scrub for cesarean sections
- Postpartum (as staffing allows): Couplet care (newborn and maternal care) — bonus if you can manage both roles
The unit handles approximately 200 deliveries monthly and serves a diverse patient population with privacy as a priority.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years perinatal experience
- Current RN license (compact license required at submission)
- Certifications: AWHONN Advanced (or NCC EFM acceptable), ACLS, BLS, NRP, FHM
- Ability to work in an OR environment during cesarean deliveries
- Willingness to float between perinatal units

- Scrubs: Navy blue (L&D-specific scrubs provided)
- 50-mile local radius
- All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront during application
- Must commit to working 3 of 5 holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
