Medical-Surgical Telemetry RN | Travel Contract | Greensboro, NC
Shift: Nights | 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM | 3x12-hour shifts
Schedule: Every other weekend required; holidays as needed
Contract Duration: 13 weeks | Start Date: October 5, 2026
About the Unit
This telemetry-capable Med-Surg unit primarily serves an adult and geriatric population across a broad range of diagnoses, including general medical-surgical conditions, respiratory illness, observation status, diabetes management (including new-onset and complicated cases), surgical and post-operative patients, palliative/end-of-life/hospice care, and psychiatric observation. All RNs on this unit are required to demonstrate EKG competency regardless of specialty background.
Robust interdisciplinary support is available, including respiratory services, IV teams, physical therapy, pharmacy, phlebotomy, rapid response teams, social services, and radiology.
Shift Details
- Float to other campus locations may be required when census is low
- Every other weekend coverage required
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience; first-time travelers welcome
- Active RN license in hand at time of submission
- BLS required; ACLS required
- Must pass a compliance EKG exam during onboarding (2 attempts allowed)
- No local candidates within 50 miles
- COVID-19 and flu vaccines required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
Clinical Skills Expected
- Telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation/management
- BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tube care, wound care/wound vac
- PICC and peripheral line management, blood product administration
- Pre/post hemodialysis management, feeding tube care, surgical drain management
Preferred
- Prior Charge RN experience
- LTAC background
Orientation: 48 hours
