Labor & Delivery RN — Travel Contract
Greensboro, NC | Nights | 13-Week Contract
This Labor & Delivery unit manages high-acuity laboring patients across a busy night shift, with float coverage to MAU, MBU, and OBSC as needed. First-time travelers are welcome.
Schedule
- 3×12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
- Every other weekend required (approximately 6 Sat/Sun weekends per contract)
- Holidays scheduled as needed
Clinical Scope
Nurses on this unit care for laboring and high-risk obstetric patients, including:
- Hemorrhage/shock, pre-eclampsia/eclampsia, HELLP syndrome, and malpresentations
- Magnesium sulfate therapy, insulin drips, antihypertensives, and pitocin management
- Circulating for C-sections, VBAC management, and neonatal resuscitation
- External and internal fetal monitoring, IUPC placement and calibration
- Assisting with high-risk and vaginal deliveries, epidural anesthesia monitoring, and sterile exams
Patient Population
Neonates and adults; typical census of 16 patients.
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of L&D experience
- Active RN license in hand at time of submission
- BLS, ACLS, and NRP required; AWHONN Intermediate preferred
- EHR experience required
- Must pass a compliance EKG exam (2 attempts allowed)
- No open background cases; no candidates within 50-mile radius of facility
- RTO must be submitted with application; no post-submission changes accepted
- Third-party education verification required
Contract Details
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Start Date: October 5, 2026
- Orientation: Approximately 24 hours; non-billable modules (2–4 hours) completed during orientation
- COVID-19 and flu vaccines required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
