Labor & Delivery RN — Night Shift | Greensboro, NC | 13-Week Contract
This Labor & Delivery position places you on a high-acuity unit managing laboring patients with complex presentations. The unit supports a broad clinical scope and an active interdisciplinary team including pharmacy, respiratory services, IV teams, phlebotomy, radiology, and rapid response.
Shift & Schedule
- Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM | 3x12-hour shifts
- Every other weekend required; holidays scheduled as needed
- Approximately 12–14 weekend shifts per contract
Float Requirements
- May float to MAU, MBU, and OBSC
Clinical Scope
- High-acuity laboring patients including pre-eclampsia/eclampsia, HELLP syndrome, placenta previa/abruption, malpresentations, and multiple gestation
- Assist with vaginal deliveries, high-risk deliveries, and C-section circulating and recovery
- Neonatal resuscitation, APGAR scoring, and thermoregulation
- External and internal fetal monitoring, IUPC placement, spiral electrode placement
- Magnesium sulfate, oxytocin, antihypertensive, and insulin drip management
- VBAC management, epidural anesthesia assistance, and hemorrhage/shock response
Required Certifications
- BLS, ACLS, NRP
- AWHONN Intermediate (preferred)
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of L&D experience; first-time travelers welcome
- Active RN license in hand at time of submission
- EKG competency exam required (2 attempts allowed)
- No candidates within a 50-mile radius of the facility
- No open background check cases
- COVID-19 and flu vaccines required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
Orientation: 24 hours | Non-billable compliance modules average 2–4 hours
