Labor & Delivery RN — Travel Contract
Greensboro, NC | Days | 13-Week Contract
This Labor & Delivery unit cares for high-acuity laboring patients, including those with complex obstetric conditions such as pre-eclampsia/eclampsia, HELLP syndrome, placenta previa/abruption, malpresentations, and multiple gestation. Neonatal resuscitation and high-risk delivery support are core functions of this role.
Schedule
- 3x12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
- Every other weekend required (approximately 6 Sat/Sun weekends per contract)
- Holidays scheduled as needed
- Start date: October 5, 2026
Float Requirements
Travelers may be floated to the maternal antepartum, maternal-baby, and OB stepdown/care units as needed, including to other system campuses.
Required Certifications
- BLS, ACLS, NRP
- AWHONN Intermediate (preferred; Advanced a plus)
Key Clinical Skills
- Labor support and vaginal delivery assistance
- C-section circulation and recovery
- External and internal fetal monitoring, IUPC placement
- Magnesium sulfate and oxytocin management
- Epidural anesthesia assistance
- Neonatal resuscitation and APGAR assessment
- Management of obstetric emergencies (hemorrhage, shoulder dystocia, VBAC)
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of L&D experience required; first-time travelers welcome
- Active RN license in hand at time of submission
- EKG competency exam required (2 attempts allowed)
- COVID-19 and flu vaccines required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
- No local candidates within 50 miles
- Pre-approved time off must be submitted with application
Orientation: 24 hours | Non-billable compliance modules average 2–4 hours and are completed during orientation.
