Operating Room Nurse
Position Overview
The facility is seeking an experienced OR nurse to join a dynamic surgical team. You'll work in a fast-paced operating room environment supporting a wide range of surgical specialties including general surgery, neurosurgery, spine, orthopedics, robotic-assisted procedures, and vascular surgery.
Shift & Schedule
- Primary shift: 10:00 AM – 10:00 PM
- Flexible alternatives: 11:00 AM – 11:00 PM or 12:00 PM – 12:00 AM
- 4x10 or 3x12 schedules available
- Full-time position
- 13-week contract
Clinical Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive perioperative nursing care using the full nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
- Prepare and maintain sterile fields; manage surgical instruments and equipment
- Monitor patients intraoperatively and communicate with the surgical team
- Administer medications and treatments per protocol; assess and document side effects and treatment response
- Support complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
- Provide patient and family education; assess learning needs and resources
- Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
- Delegate and coordinate with other caregivers to optimize clinical workflow
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (preferred)
- Minimum 2 years OR nursing experience
- RN license in Texas or compact state
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (AHA only)
