Cardiovascular ICU Registered Nurse
Position Overview
Join the cardiovascular intensive care unit at an independent community hospital located on the I-70 Corridor between Denver and Grand Junction. You'll provide critical care to acute post-operative and Day 0 cardiac surgery patients, with the opportunity to float to the coronary care unit as needed. This role emphasizes skilled, compassionate nursing in a setting committed to keeping community members close to home during their recovery.
Shift & Schedule
- 12-hour night shifts (1900–0730)
- Weekend rotation required
- Call rotation: one call shift per two-week period, as staffing needs arise
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Colorado RN license in good standing
- Minimum 3 years critical care RN experience
- Strong CVICU skills with Day 0 post-operative cardiac experience
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association)
- Permanent address must be at least 75 miles from the facility
- Colorado CAPS registration (allow up to two weeks for processing)
Housing
Newly remodeled studio and 1-bedroom apartments are available half a block from the hospital. Fully furnished, utilities and Wi-Fi included, on-site laundry. No deposit required. Availability based on assignment duration.
What You'll Do
Provide high-acuity nursing care in a cardiovascular ICU managing post-cardiac surgery patients, acute coronary conditions, and complex hemodynamic monitoring. You may be called to support coronary care operations as part of unit flexibility.
