Registered Nurse – Labor & Delivery/Postpartum (LDRP)
Location: Elizabethtown, KY
Schedule: 3x12 (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) with weekend and holiday rotation
Contract Duration: 13 weeks
Start Date: October 5, 2026
About the Role
The facility is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for its Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) unit. You'll provide comprehensive, continuous nursing care to mothers and newborns across the full perinatal continuum—from labor through delivery, recovery, and postpartum—all within a single patient-centered room setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and interpret fetal heart rate monitoring and uterine contraction patterns; communicate changes in condition promptly
- Administer labor medications (induction/augmentation agents) and support epidural management per orders
- Assist with vaginal deliveries and immediate post-delivery recovery care (including post-cesarean recovery as applicable)
- Perform maternal postpartum assessments and newborn assessments as part of couplet care
- Manage high-risk obstetric and postpartum conditions with appropriate emergency interventions
- Support mothers with breastfeeding education, infant care, and bonding
- Collaborate with OB physicians, midwives, anesthesia, and pediatric teams
- Provide continuity of care by remaining with the same patient throughout her hospital stay
- Maintain accurate documentation of labor, delivery, and postpartum care
Required Qualifications
- Active, unrestricted RN license (or compact license as applicable)
- BLS, ACLS, and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
- 1+ years of L&D/LDRP experience
- ADN or ASN (BSN preferred)
Preferred Certifications
- AWHONN Fetal Monitoring certification
