Location: Paducah, KY

Contract Duration: 13 weeks

Schedule: 3 days per week, 12-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)

About the Role

The facility seeks a Certified Respiratory Therapist to assess, treat, and monitor patients with acute and chronic respiratory conditions. You'll deliver both medicated and non-medicated therapies, manage invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilation for acute respiratory failure, and perform diagnostic testing under provider orders.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Critical Care (35%): Respond to codes and rapid response situations. Manage airways, including endotracheal and tracheostomy tubes. Assess and adjust mechanical ventilation parameters. Assist with specialty procedures such as intubation, arterial lines, and bronchoscopy.
  • General Care (30%): Administer nebulized and metered-dose inhaler therapy. Perform chest physiotherapy and positive expiratory pressure treatments. Provide oxygen therapy and patient education.
  • Diagnostic Procedures (15%): Perform pulmonary function testing, EKG, arterial and capillary blood gas sampling, and oximetry studies. Analyze and interpret results.
  • Communication & Operations (20%): Document care, participate in shift report, manage equipment maintenance, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in respiratory care (Bachelor's preferred)
  • RRT certification (National Board for Respiratory Care)
  • Current Kentucky respiratory license
  • BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications
  • PALS certification (optional)

No prior experience required. Strong communication, collaboration, and customer service skills essential.
