Location: Paducah, KY

Contract: 13 weeks

Schedule: 3 days per week, 12-hour shifts (5:30 PM – 6:00 AM)

About the Role

The facility seeks a Certified Respiratory Therapist to assess, treat, and monitor patients with respiratory diseases and conditions. You will deliver medicated and non-medicated therapy, provide invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilator support for acute respiratory failure, and perform diagnostic testing procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Critical & Emergent Care (35%)

  • Respond to code blue and rapid response situations throughout the facility
  • Manage airways, including endotracheal and tracheostomy tube care
  • Assess and adjust invasive and non-invasive ventilatory parameters
  • Assist with advanced procedures: endotracheal intubation, arterial lines, bronchoscopy
  • Support high-risk deliveries and care of compromised newborns

General Care (30%)

  • Administer medicated therapy (nebulizers, metered-dose inhalers)
  • Provide therapeutic procedures (chest physiotherapy, oscillating positive expiratory pressure)
  • Manage oxygen therapy and patient education

Diagnostic Procedures (15%)

  • Perform pulmonary function testing, arterial and capillary blood gas sampling
  • Conduct cardiac testing (12-lead EKG, Holter monitoring)
  • Complete neurodiagnostic studies (EEG)

Communication & Equipment Management (20%)

  • Document assessments and communicate patient information to the care team
  • Maintain and clean mechanical ventilators and therapeutic gas delivery devices
  • Participate in quality improvement and departmental meetings

Required Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Respiratory Care
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification via National Board for Respiratory Care
  • Current Kentucky respiratory license
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications

Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Care; healthcare or customer service experience.
