Emergency Department RN | Asheville, NC | Night Shift | 13-Week Contract
This Emergency Department travel nursing role is based in Asheville, NC, serving a high-volume, culturally diverse community with over 120 languages represented in the surrounding area. The department is fast-paced and collaborative, known for strong teamwork and a welcoming environment.
Shift & Schedule
- Nights: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
- Every other weekend required
- No block scheduling; scheduling must meet department needs
- No floating outside the ED, but flexibility to work all sections within the ED is required
Clinical Details
- High-volume emergency department managing a broad acuity range, including trauma, stroke, and behavioral health patients
- Typical patient ratios: 4:1 (medical); up to 7:1 (behavioral holds)
- Techs available in cardiac monitoring, , and internal processing areas
- Unit clerks on both day and night shifts
Required Certifications (prior to start date)
- ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS
- ENPC within 90 days of hire
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience, with at least 1 year in an ED setting
- Experience in a high-volume trauma or comprehensive stroke setting strongly preferred
- Strong teamwork mentality; ability to coach and provide real-time feedback
- Familiarity with AIDET and patient experience standards
Dress Code: Navy scrubs
Contract: 13 weeks | 36 guaranteed hours per week | Start date: August 24, 2026
