Registered Nurse
Labor & Delivery RN – 13-Week Contract
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Schedule: 36 guaranteed hours per week
Contract Duration: 13 weeks
Call Requirement: 1–2 shifts scheduled as needed
About the Unit
The facility's Labor & Delivery unit is a fast-paced environment where you'll care for laboring patients, manage deliveries, and support antepartum cases. The team follows AWHONN guidelines and maintains strong staffing ratios: 1:1 for active labor with Pitocin, cesarean delivery, and recovery; 2–3 antepartum patients per nurse.
Clinical Scope
You'll manage labor progression, circulate cesarean sections, perform assessments, assist with vaginal and operative deliveries, and administer iron infusions. The unit uses continuous fetal monitoring and emphasizes evidence-based obstetric nursing.
Key Requirements
- Current RN license (Texas)
- Proficiency in labor management and cesarean section circulation
- Ability to work as part of a collaborative, high-acuity team
- Willingness to float to Mother-Baby as a resource when needed
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with vaginal delivery, c-sections, , and iron infusion protocols
- Passion for obstetric nursing and excellent patient outcomes
