Orthopedic Surgical Nursing Position
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Contract Duration: 13 weeks
Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week
About the Role
Provide direct nursing care to adult orthopedic surgical patients in a general medical-surgical unit with telemetry capability. You'll implement and monitor patient care plans, coordinate care across disciplines, communicate patient condition changes, and assist with discharge planning. This role requires strong critical thinking, decisive judgment, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Your Unit
You'll work with a general orthopedic surgical population. The nursing team maintains a 1:5-6 patient-to-nurse ratio and benefits from support staff including Patient Care Technicians, a Healthcare Unit Coordinator, virtual sitter monitoring, and telemetry monitor technicians.
What We Need
- Current RN license (verification required)

- Standard background check and drug screening
- Required vaccinations: COVID-19, influenza, MMR, Tdap, Varicella, Hepatitis B
- TB screening (PPD or IGRA)
- Fit testing for respiratory protection
Clinical Scope
- Monitor and assess orthopedic post-operative and general surgical patients
- Implement physician and nursing orders
- Communicate with the healthcare team regarding patient status and needs
- Coordinate discharge planning with interdisciplinary team members
- Work effectively with minimal supervision in a high-acuity environment
