Critical Care Nurse – Cardiothoracic Surgery Focus
Position Overview
The facility seeks an experienced critical care nurse to support cardiothoracic surgery patients in a fast-paced ICU environment. You'll provide specialized care to post-operative and high-acuity cardiac patients, working collaboratively across critical care units.
Shift & Schedule
- 12-hour rotating shifts (days and nights)
- Every other weekend rotation, including holiday coverage during winter months
- 72 guaranteed hours biweekly
- Weekly orientation available
- 13-week contract
Clinical Scope
You'll manage complex cardiothoracic surgery patients and operate advanced cardiac support devices including IABP and IMPELLA. Float responsibilities between ICU and IMCU are expected. Any color scrubs are acceptable.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years experience in a similar critical care setting
- CT surgery experience required
- Hands-on experience with IABP and IMPELLA devices
- BLS-AHA and ACLS-AHA certifications
- Must be separated from BILH for at least 6 months prior to start date
