ICU Nurse – 12-Hour Night Shifts
Position Overview
The facility is seeking an experienced ICU nurse for a 13-week contract managing high-acuity patients in the ICU and IMCU settings. This is a night shift role (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) with every-other-weekend rotation.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct care to critically ill patients, including post-cardiac-surgery and device-dependent patients
- Monitor and manage patients on advanced circulatory support devices (IABP, IMPELLA)
- Perform cardiothoracic nursing care in a fast-paced critical care environment
- Adapt to both ICU and IMCU patient populations as needed
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in a similar ICU or cardiac care setting
- Demonstrated experience with cardiothoracic surgery patients
- Hands-on experience with advanced circulatory support devices
- Current BLS-AHA and ACLS-AHA certifications
- Separation from the facility for 6+ months prior to application (if previously employed there)
Contract Details
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift: 12-hour nights, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Weekend Schedule: Every other weekend; if working through winter holidays, 2 holidays are required
- Guaranteed Hours: 72 hours biweekly
- Orientation: Weekly
- Scrubs: Any color
