Emergency Room | Travel Nurse | Night Shift | Arlington, VA

This 13-week travel assignment places you in a high-volume emergency department serving patients across the full lifespan — from neonates to geriatrics. The unit operates 24/7 with robust stroke and interventional cardiology support, offering a clinically rich environment for experienced ER nurses.

Schedule

  • Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 3×12-hour shifts
  • 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
  • Expect to work some holidays; time-off requests must be minimal and submitted at time of offer

Clinical Scope

The ED manages high-acuity and complex presentations, including trauma, stroke, and cardiac emergencies. Key skills utilized include:

  • Arterial line management
  • Care of ventilated patients
  • Central line care and management
  • IV vasopressor administration
  • Procedural sedation administration and monitoring
  • Dysrhythmia management
  • and isolation/PPE protocols

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of ER nursing experience
  • Active Virginia or Compact RN license — must be in hand at time of submission
  • Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC

Vaccine Requirements

  • COVID-19 vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
  • Flu vaccine required October 1 – March 31 (medical exemptions only)

Additional Notes

  • Charting system orientation required; prior experience preferred
  • Smoke/nicotine-free facility
  • Floating may be required in rotation with staff per Joint Commission standards
