Emergency Room | Travel Nurse | Night Shift | Arlington, VA
This 13-week travel assignment places you in a high-volume emergency department serving patients across the full lifespan — from neonates to geriatrics. The unit operates 24/7 with robust stroke and interventional cardiology support, offering a clinically rich environment for experienced ER nurses.
Schedule
- Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 3×12-hour shifts
- 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
- Expect to work some holidays; time-off requests must be minimal and submitted at time of offer
Clinical Scope
The ED manages high-acuity and complex presentations, including trauma, stroke, and cardiac emergencies. Key skills utilized include:
- Arterial line management
- Care of ventilated patients
- Central line care and management
- IV vasopressor administration
- Procedural sedation administration and monitoring
- Dysrhythmia management
- and isolation/PPE protocols
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of ER nursing experience
- Active Virginia or Compact RN license — must be in hand at time of submission
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC
Vaccine Requirements
- COVID-19 vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
- Flu vaccine required October 1 – March 31 (medical exemptions only)
Additional Notes
- Charting system orientation required; prior experience preferred
- Smoke/nicotine-free facility
- Floating may be required in rotation with staff per Joint Commission standards
