Inpatient Psychiatric RN — 8-Hour Night Shift
Position Overview
The facility is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join the inpatient psychiatric unit. You'll provide direct patient care, assessment, and advocacy in a structured therapeutic environment, working primarily nights with potential flexibility for day or evening shifts.

- Shift: 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM (8 hours)
- Schedule: 40 hours/week, no float required
- Contract: 13 weeks

Requirements
- Current Massachusetts nursing license (RN)
- BLS-AHA certification
- 2+ years inpatient psychiatric nursing experience
- Must be separated from the facility for 6+ months prior to application
What You'll Do
Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care to individuals experiencing psychiatric crises or chronic mental health conditions. Responsibilities include:
- Completing timely admission and ongoing assessments
- Developing individualized nursing care plans with patients and families
- Administering medications and treatments per provider orders
- Monitoring patient safety and responding promptly to needs
- Providing education and discharge planning
- Documenting accurately and communicating handoffs clearly
- Supporting team members and assisting with staff orientation as needed
Professional Standards
You'll practice within the RN scope of care, maintain HIPAA compliance, follow hospital policies and Joint Commission safety standards, and actively participate in quality improvement initiatives.
