Psychiatric RN – Senior Adult Unit

Position Overview

The facility is seeking an experienced Psychiatric RN for a 13-week contract on a dedicated senior adult geriatric/psych unit.Shift & Schedule

• 8-hour rotating shifts: Day (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM) and Evening (3:00 PM – 11:30 PM)
• Every other weekend required
• 72 hours biweekly guaranteed (excludes on-call time)

Unit Details

The unit operates without telemetry or ventilators. You'll work alongside one Nurse Practitioner and Certified Nursing Assistants. Patient ratios scale with census: 1–12 patients (2 RNs), 13–16 patients (3 RNs), 17–20 patients (4 RNs).

Clinical Scope

Your responsibilities include IV starts, Foley catheter insertion, blood draws, and EKGs. While Clinical Assistants typically handle labs and EKGs, RNs are expected to perform these tasks when needed. A medical consult team manages changes in patient condition. No drips are administered on the unit.

Requirements

• Current MA Nursing License (RN)
• BLS certification (AHA)
• Geriatric experience required
• BSN preferred
• Must have been separated from previous BILH employment for 6+ months and remain in good standing
• No floating assignments
